I worked with the team at Silver Comet Productions to provide rigging and animation on a series of music videos for the band "Star Forest". Check out everything the band is up to at www.starforest.rocks!

One of my first tasks on the project was rigging of the band's newest member, Twig. I also completed some updates to the other three band members, plus rigged some other simpler assets like a bug and a flying boat.

This project was animated in Maya and rendered in Unreal Engine, so all rigs were built and tested to be compatible with the engine. Later, while I was working on animation on the music videos, I would occasionally provide guidance and assistance as needed to other team members that were building new rigs, mainly just to help out with UE compatibility.

I think Twig's rig really shines in the music video for "Beam On" - the animation team on this consisted of Keaton Kish, Josh DeVaughn, and myself!

As for my animation contributions to the project, some of my favorite shots are these from "Climbing Tree" where Fawn is whispering to leaves and, well, climbing a tree. Loved getting to work on that heroic moment where she reaches the top. [timestamps 2:00 to 2:55]

I also really enjoyed working on the animation for the latter portion of "Let Me Be Real" in which the band's cat knocks over the camera just as they begin to play.

All the cat and slug animation from 1:13 onwards was created either as loops (slug dances, cat's tail motion) or short isolated clips (the cat's stretch and lie-down towards the end), so in UE the directors Dusty Higgins and Austin Baur could import this collection of animations and customize the timing and placement of all the separate pieces.
